Battlefield 6 Gamers Are Convinced: Missions Are Way Too Hard
The release of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 received broad praise, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Gamers have begun turning to custom matches made via the custom game tool to finish these tasks, underscoring just how demanding these missions have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Tasks
Assignments are Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, in contrast to the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. There are four types of assignments, but while the majority simply offer outfits and select equipment, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one main guns found within the game.
Some of these gated guns might eventually make their appearance on rankings for the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry on Reddit
On Reddit, players are understandably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive several of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This task is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and only works at very short distances, which isn't typically where you want to be. The commenter also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that mission would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Extremely Difficult Mission
A different forum member highlighted a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the marksman rifle class to obtain the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with marksman guns
This is difficult enough as it is, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at that kind of range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but given there are merely nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it means you're limited to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and maybe a classic map in a best-case scenario if you plan to engage from afar from over 200m away.
The Workaround
However, there is a solution: the portal. The Battlefield Portal is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on any map you prefer, complete with bots. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.
Yet, if completing the missions in a standard match appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can fault a player for finishing these in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if several of these tasks are made easier in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.
For now, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these challenging battlefield assignments, hoping for a fairer player experience in coming revisions.
