Mario's Galactic Adventure Teaser Arrives, Unveiling Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voice Cast

Nintendo and Illumination released the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that highlighted the soon-to-release cartoon movie.

The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will propel Mario to the far corners of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a new princess and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.

A Cosmic Adventure Inspired by Beloved Titles

In the vein of the Wii console classics that act as its source material, Mario will leave behind the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. Throughout his extensive trek, he will encounter once more some familiar faces, including the Luma, a fan favorite from the previous film.

However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who apparently wields metal-based powers. Worth mentioning, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also includes nods to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.

All-Star Vocal Ensemble Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers

The movie will welcome back of the original voice cast, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to embody Bowser Jr. This was confirmed by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.

Mario's Major Moment

Mario's latest cinematic adventure is scheduled to arrive near the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 promises to be a important time for Mario and his friends.

Nintendo confirmed three new games officially announced for the upcoming year, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

Release Date Confirmed

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
